I am rooted in a Harvey MacKay quote that my father often preached to me in my formative years: “The ten most powerful two-letter words in the English language are: If it is to be, it is up to me.” I rolled my eyes then, but the curiosity and motivation expressed by that adage rings true every time I’m serving a small, medium, or large business client.

In my spare time, I enjoy coaching and watching my children play youth sports, traveling with my wife, walking our dog, and following college and pro sports. A little-known fact about me: I participated in walk-on tryouts for the Michigan basketball team in 1993. Although my dreams of becoming the sixth member of the Fab Five did not become reality, Ray Jackson’s quip as I left the tryout – “good hustle, little man” – remains one of the highest compliments I have ever received.
